When I woke up this morning the outside temperature here in my part of Nova Scotia was minus 20C! That’s definitely on the nippy side. We’re also expecting over 20cm (8 inches) of snow in the next 36 hours. So what better excuse for staying in and crafting (not that I need one). Today’s project is a 3” x 3” sticky note pad decorated with a pattern from the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Then I mounted it onto a wooden ‘coaster’ I discovered in a box yesterday.

I began by cutting a 3-1/4″ x 6-7/8″ piece of Pecan Pie Card. Then with the long side at the top I scored it at 3-1/4″ and 3-5/8″. After folding the card along the scored lines I sharpened the creases with a Bone Folder. Finally I wrapped the card around the sticky note pad and glued the back of the pad to the card layer, before gluing it to the 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ wooden ‘coaster’.

Next, from the Floral Charm DSP I found a sheet with pretty rust coloured flowers. I cut a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ square of this along with a 3″ x 3″ piece of Pretty Peacock Card. Then I glued the DSP onto the card layer.

LAYERED FLORAL IMAGES

Going back to the DSP I found another area with the same arrangement of flowers. This time I used scissors to fussy-cut the three flowers before mounting them on top of the DSP layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my sentiment I chose “I’m here for you” from the Prayers & Promises Stamp Set. Using Pecan Pie ink I stamped it onto a 3/8″ x 1-3/4″ strip of Very Vanilla Card. Then I tucked it under the fussy-cut flowers with liquid glue.

Finally I added three clear embellishments from the retiring Frosted Iridescent Dots pack either side of the sentiment. Then using Stampin’ Dimensionals I mounted the assembled layers onto the top of the wrapped sticky note pad and my latest project was complete. What do you think?

As it’s the last Sunday in the month I decided to join the Crafty Collaborations Share It Sunday Blog Hop. Check out what other papercrafters have been working on using the links below.
