As someone who considered themselves to be not very artistic, it never ceases to amaze me that I’m now passionate about papercrafting and couldn’t imagine not creating something on a daily basis. The Love What You Do Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! sums it up really and it was this set I turned to when I sat down to make thank you cards for all the customers who placed orders with me in July.
I really appreciate their business, and for today’s simple Sunday Project I thought I’d show you the card I designed for each and every one of them.
BASE AND BACKGROUND
I began with a piece of Old Olive Card, cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer, folded along the scored line, and the crease sharpened with a Bone Folder.
On the front of the card base I fixed a piece from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack followed by a narrow strip of Rich Razzleberry Card, both attached with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
On a piece of Whisper White Card I used Rich Razzleberry ink to stamp the ‘thank you’ sentiment from the Love What You Do Stamp Set. Then with liquid glue I mounted the sentiment onto some Rich Razzleberry Card before adding it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To finish off the front I added a trio of Grapefruit Grove Faceted Dots (one of each size).
Next, on a layer of Whisper White Card I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the bell flower image in the bottom right corner, and then ‘coloured’ the flowers using the smallest of the abstract shapes in the Love What You Do Stamp Set and So Saffron ink. The layer was added to the inside of the card base with liquid glue.
Finally I finished off the project by duplicating the same bell flower image onto the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope and my project was complete.
I told you it was a simple card, and as I needed to make multiples of this one to send to my customers it was exactly what I needed. Of course that wasn’t all I had for my July customers, I also included a sample pack of the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper so they could create their own projects. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.
A PERSONAL FAVOUR
I’m sure I’ve mentioned before that there is a great offer to get the August Paper Pumpkin Craft Kit for half price if you subscribe by August 10th. A little birdy tells me it includes pretty watercoloured floral images, and if recent kits are anything to go by, I’m sure it’s going to be gorgeous.
Now I know some of you aren’t really sure about these kits, especially as the actual project is a surprise, but I’m asking you to take a chance just this month, and subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by Friday (August 10th) quoting the promo code BLOOM0818.
When you, do the August kit will be sent out around August 15th, and about a week later you’ll receive some happy mail that’s so much nicer than those other things that clog up the mailbox. Then you’ll be able to enjoy a crafty break using the kit which will include everything you need to complete the project including instructions, all card pieces ready cut and scored, coordinating accessories, a mini ink spot, and a photopolymer stamp set. If written instructions aren’t your thing, watch out for an e-mail letting you know that the video tutorial for the kit has been posted on the Paper Pumpkin YouTube Channel (this is usually a few days are the kits are shipped).
Once you’ve got the kit, take a look and let me know what you think. If you really don’t like it, contact me and I’ll arrange for you to get a full refund. If you do like the kit I’ll personally send you a tutorial PDF with some ideas for other ways you can use the kit contents and a few other basic craft supplies to create alternate projects.
So go on, please do me a favour and try Paper Pumpkin this month, you really have nothing to lose.
