My daughter loves snow, when she can mess around in it with the children that is. Driving in it, not so much. So she’s always asking when’s the best time to visit us to see snow. Funny enough I never say December, or January, I’ve found in my little corner of Canada, February is best. So when I saw the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set and the ‘love never melts’ sentiment I immediately thought of Valentine’s Day.
Before I knew it I had made today’s very simple Sunday project.
LOVE NEVER MELTS
I started this simple project with a layer of Whisper White Card and stamped the ‘love never melts’ sentiment in the bottom right corner using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The cute snow couple came next, stamped just above the sentiment.
Then I used Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers (light and dark combos) to colour in the image. The colours I chose were: Real Red, Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake. I also used the dark Pumpkin Pie for that teeny bit of carrot nose you can see.
Next using my Stampin’ Trimmer I cut and scored some Thick Whisper White Card for my card base. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. With that done the completed layer was finally fixed to the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
NEARLY DONE
Next I cut another layer of Whisper White Card to line the card base. Using Tuxedo Black ink stamped off onto scrap paper I stamped a line of snowflakes down the right-hand edge using the small snowflake image. Then this piece was fixed inside the card base with liquid glue.
Finally I covered the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope with more of the small snowflake images and I was finished.
Didn’t I say this was simple!
