It’s August 1st already and our very successful offer on Designer Series Paper, and the free ink pad offer for those joining Stampin’ Up! in July are now over. But don’t despair I have new offers to tempt you as we start to think about fall and the new 2018 Holiday Catalogue. I’ve already seen it and I know you are going to love it.
I now have catalogues on order and will get them out to my customers as soon as I can, but in the meantime feast your eyes on the limited availability Color Your Season suite. There’s a new assortment of 10 Watercolor Pencils, the Blended Seasons Stamp Set, and the coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies, and I decided to use all three on today’s project.
I began with the lovely wheat image from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set stamped using Crushed Curry ink in the bottom right corner on two layers of Very Vanilla Card, and onto the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
I coloured the images using the Crushed Curry pencil and then added some Cajun Craze pencil over the top before blending the pencil lines with a Blender Pen.
I cut and scored a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card using my Stampin’ Trimmer, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base. One of the Very Vanilla layers was then fixed to the inside with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Going back to the remaining Very Vanilla layer I cut out the centre of the piece using my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform with the smallest of the label-style dies from the Stitched Seasons Framelits.
I set the label piece aside and mounted the remaining part of the Very Vanilla layer onto a piece of Crushed Curry Card using liquid glue. I wrapped some Very Vanilla Solid Baker’s Twine around the layers and tied it in a small bow, then fixed the assembled piece to the front of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
All that was left was the ‘thank you’ sentiment so it was back to the Blended Seasons Stamp Set. This sentiment is actually on one line so I needed to do a little creative stamping so it would fit in the space I had. I inked up the ‘thank’ part of the rubber stamp with Soft Suede ink and placed some sellotape over the ‘you’ section so there was no danger of any stray ink ruining my project. Then I stamped the ‘thank’ onto the die-cut label piece. I removed the sellotape, inked up the ‘you’, covered the ‘thank’ with sellotape and stamped the ‘you’ onto the label piece.
With some Stampin’ Dimensionals used to attach the sentiment to the front of the card over the die-cut hole, my project was complete.
Although this is quite a clean and simple layout, I love the way that the Crushed Curry Card can be seen under the sentiment. Of course the fact that the label dies in the Stitched Seasons Framelits leaves a line of faux stitching around the edge of the label AND the edge of the hole at the same time doesn’t hurt either.
COLOR YOUR SEASON
I mentioned that the Color Your Season suite of products has limited availability, so here’s the details… The Blended Seasons Stamp Set, Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies and Watercolor Pencil Assortment 2 will only be available to purchase during August 2018. What’s more, stocks are strictly limited and could even run out before the end of the month.
My advice is, if you like these products order them now while they are still available. You can even order the stamp set and coordinating dies together using a special bundle and save 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. Just remember that as soon as either the stamp set or dies sells out, the bundle will no longer be available to order.
BONUS DAYS ARE BACK!
Also throughout August you’ll have the opportunity to earn e-vouchers to spend on anything you like in September, and that includes the new 2018 Holiday Catalogue. The deal is simple, for every $60 CAD spent in a single order in August you’ll receive an e-voucher for $6 to spend in September. There’s no limit on how many e-vouchers you can earn, and you’ll be able to stack them when you come to spend them. Just remember to include a valid e-mail address when you set up your account so that the e-vouchers can be e-mailed to you, and keep them safe as they cannot be replaced.
