Today’s going to be a scorcher of a day. Unfortunately it’s not what we need here in Nova Scotia where we’re battling numerous wildfires. While my little corner of the province is not currently affected, it only needs a small spark to change that. In fact yesterday we felt the fear as a fire in our village was reported. Thankfully the volunteer fire department got to it before it caused too much damage. But that was definitely on my mind as I was creating today’s project using the new Paper Florist Dies.

FRESH FLORIST IDEA
My project began with the Fresh As A Daisy 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Although the pack has lots of floral designs it was actually the single coloured abstract patterns that I wanted today.
First I chose the Boho Blue pattern and using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed it to an old fridge magnet. Then I trimmed off the excess paper with Paper Snips, using the edge of the magnet as a guide.
Next from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set I chose the “Hope anchors the soul: sentiment. After stamping it onto the DSP covered magnet with VersaMark ink I sprinkled it with black powder from the Basic Stampin’ Emboss Powders pack. Then I tapped off the excess and removed some stray specks, before melting the reest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Going back to the Fresh As A Daisy DSP I found a pale green panel, along with scraps of the Moody Mauve and Wild Wheat backgrounds. With that done I pulled out the Paper Florist Dies.

For my Moody Mauve petals I decided on the die with two five-petal flowers. Next, for the green leaves I went with the solid leaf die with in-built faux stitching (I die-cut two of these). Then for the Wild Wheat flower centre I found the small square shaped die with four small holes. Finally I chose the triple stemmed bud die and used it twice to cut some Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.

From there everything came together quickly as I layered the die-cut pieces with liquid glue. In fact I stacked all four of the tiny circles to make the flower centre really stand out. Then with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back, I added my floral arrangement to the magnet and I was done.
