Half of the weekend has gone already and I still have so much I want to get done. This heatwave is definitely slowing me down, especially since there’s no breeze coming off the bay right now. So once the washing is on the line I plan to stay indoors where it’s cooler. I need to do some reorganisation in my craft studio, then I’ll probably reward myself with a little crafting. Today’s simple Sunday project is this “thinking of you” card with a sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.

FAVOURITE PINK
There’s something about Petal Pink that l just love. Of all the pink shades in the Stampin’ Up! range this is the one I go back to again and again. For today’s project I began by cutting a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Petal Pink Card. Then with the long side at the top of my Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer I used the scoring blade to score it at 4-1/4″. Then I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I turned to the Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). I chose a sheet with Petal Pink flowers on a Soft Suede background and cut a 6″ x 6″ piece. This would be enough to decorate the front and inside of the card plus the envelope.
From the 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP I cut a strip 2-1/4″ wide. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached it to the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Trimming off the excess paper was a simple task with my Paper Snips and using the edge of the flap.
Next I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of DSP and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Using liquid glue again I fixed the DSP alongside the right-hand edge of the card layer. Then I glued the assembled piece inside the card base.
Finally I trimmed the DSP that was left to 3″ x 5-1/2″ and glued it up against the fold on the front of the card base. Then I completed the background by gluing a 3/8″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Soft Suede Card on top of the DSP up against the right-hand edge.
PEACEFUL MOMENTS
All I needed to do now was stamp my sentiment and I chose “thinking of you” from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.

Using Soft Suede ink I stamped the sentiment onto a 1″ x 2-1/2″ scrap of Basic White Card. Then I glued it onto a 1-1/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Petal Pink Card, leaving an even border on all sides. Next I cut a 1-1/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Soft Suede Card and glued the layered sentiment on top, keeping the even borders again.
Finally I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the assembled sentiment to the centre of the card front, 1-1/4″ from the top edge. With that this week’s simple Sunday project was complete.
I love the simplicity of this layout and it’s really quick for those moments when you need a card in a hurry. Change it up with a different patterned paper and take the colours for the card base and layers from the paper you’ve chosen.
