MINI POCKET ENVELOPE
I actually began this project several months ago as I was playing with the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies. I’d started by die-cutting the Highland Heather Card then decided to see if I could emboss it. At 4-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ the cut piece was ideally sized to fit into the 6″ x 6″ Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. However to make things easier later I folded it along the lines ‘scored’ by the die then unfolded it. After embossing I folded it back up and fixed the side tabs in place using some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
In case you missed it, here’s my short video introducing the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies and showing how easy it is to assemble.
With the pocket done all I had to do was decorate it using the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set and coordinating Songbird Builder Punch.
SWEET SONGBIRDS
I started with the larger of the two bird bodies and stamped it onto some Sahara Sand Card using Crumb Cake ink. Then I lined it up in the Songbird Builder Punch and punched it out. When I did this it also punched out a couple of smaller pieces and I grabbed the small wing. Going back to the stamp set I found the corresponding image and stamped that onto the piece. This was really easy as the set is made from see-through photopolymer material. Finally, using Sweet Strawberry ink I stamped the colour onto the bird’s breast turning him into a sweet robin.
Next I chose the “It’s your special day” sentiment and stamped that onto a 1/4″ x 2″ strip of Thick Very Vanilla Card with Early Espresso ink. Finally I used Early Espresso ink to stamp the music notes along a 5-1/2″ piece of 7/8″ Natural Finish Ribbon.
Now I was ready to put everything together.

I began by wrapping the ribbon around the assembled pocket with the ends of the ribbon at the front. Then, after fixing them in place with Tear & Tape Adhesive I trimmed off the excess. Next using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals I added the bird’s body, followed by his wing. With a few more Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals I added the sentiment and my all-occasion gift card holder was complete.
Although I used a sentiment from the Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set they would be great with any sentiment don’t you think?
OK so that’s all from me for today. I hope you’ll join me tomorrow when I’ll have a new greeting card project to inspire you.
