It never fails to happen that as I‘m using a stamp set or dies I discover something new. Usually it’s a good thing, but not always. You see right now I’m revisiting some products that are being retired by Stampin’ Up! It’s frustrating to realise that I’ve had a product for a while and not explored its full potential. Today I discovered small flowers and leaves in the Wildflower Path Stamp Set. I’d originally bought it for the Ralph Waldo Emerson quotation and completely overlooked these stamps among the others.

WILDFLOWER SIMPLICITY
I began my project by cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then using the retiring Label Me Fancy Punch I added a small hole in the centre at one end.
Then from the Wildflower Path Stamp Set I took the quotation sentiment which says: “Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”. Using Early Espresso ink I stamped the sentiment in the centre of the card strip. Now I could see the space that was left where my flowers amd leaves could go.
First I stamped the triple flower image using retiring Rich Razzleberry ink, once above and once below the sentiment, Then I took the stamp with a pair of small leaves and added them close to the flowers using the retiring Pear Pizzazz ink.
Finally I cut two 6″ pieces of Very Vanilla Twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. After folding them in half I poked the loops through the punched hole at the top of the strip. Then I threaded the cut ends through the loops and pulled gently to secure the twine in place. In less than five minutes this week’s simple Sunday project was complete.
Now I’m going to write myself a reminder to ink up every stamp in a set when I get it so I don’t overlook something again.
