As I type this blog post it’s just before 6pm on Friday. The winter storm started around 11am and has been relentless. If the deck railings are to be believed, we currently have about 6″ (15cm) of snow on the ground with lots more to come. So I think therefore that it’s Mother Nature’s way of telling me I need to spend more time crafting. Mothers shouldn’t be argued with, and so that’s what I plan to do. But first I wanted to bring you this pretty project using the new Wildflower Path Stamp Set.

WILDFLOWERS AND A QUOTE
I began my design with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I shaped the top and added the ribbon hole using the Fancy Label Punch.
With that done I was ready to stamp using the Wildflower Path Stamp Set. First I chose the heavier of the two stems and stamped it using Pear Pizzazz ink. Then I took the image with four flowers and stamped that in Calypso Coral ink, lining up the bottoms of the flowers with the tops of the corresponding stems. Over the top of the flowers I then stamped the smaller image to add the details. For this I also used Calypso Coral ink, but when stamped onto the first layer it looked darker.
At this point I thought that the Very Vanilla Card looked too bright. So using a Blending Brush I added a layer of Petal Pink ink around the edges of the card.
Finally using Tuxedo Black ink I was ready to stamp the quotation…
Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

To add more interest I then placed the bookmark inside the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.
Then to finish I cut two 6″ pieces of Petal Pink ribbon from the 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack. After folding the ribbon in half I passed the loops through the slot at the top of the bookmark. Then I threaded the ends through the loops and pulled tight to secure them in place.

In no time at all my pretty and inspirational bookmark was complete.
The 1/8″ ribbon is part of the Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack with 5 yards each of Petal Pink and Misty Moonlight ribbon. I used the Misty Moonlight ribbon on yesterday’s ‘thinking of you’ card in my blog post Thoughtful in the moment. The ribbon is so pretty and soft, and a dream to tie into a bow. I may just need to order more…
OK so in the middle of writing this post the power was interrupted twice, and I suspect it won’t be long before it goes out completely. Crafting by candlelight could be interesting don’t you think?
