One the hardest types of card to make is sympathy card. I like to keep them simple and quiet with very little fussiness. The Kindness & Compassion Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! is perfect for this. It’s a sentiment only set which means you can leave it plain or add your own imagery if you want. It also has sentiments for the inside of the cards too which is invaluable. I addition to sending sympathy, the set includes a sympathy thank you sentiment, and I decided to use this for my Simple Sunday project.
KINDNESS & COMPASSION IS KEY
I began with the large card from the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes pack. These 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and 4-1/4″ x 6-1/4″card bases are designed to be used with Memories & More Card Packs, but they’re a great option for ready prepared card bases. The envelopes in the pack are also printed on the underside of the flap with Night of Navy Stripes so you have instant coordination.
First I folded one of the large cards along the pre-scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I took a piece of Whisper White Card and a Night of Navy ink pad. I stamped the cottage from the free Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, By The Bay, at the bottom. Then I added my sympathy thank you sentiment from Kindness & Compassion above it.
To finish the panel I wrapped two pieces of Night of Navy Medium Baker’s Twine around the top of the piece and secured it on the back using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Then I fixed the completed layer on the front of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
On the inside of the card I stamped a second sentiment using Night of Navy ink and my project was finished
I love the simple imagery and sentiments on this card. It’s also a #simplestamping design that’s quick and easy to make with no need for lots of special tools or techniques. You don’t even need to worry about tying the perfect bow.
I think the Kindness & Compassion Stamp Set is one that every crafter could have in their collection, but hopes never to need to use.
