So this is going to be a super quick blog post. We have a severe winter storm that’s just started to ramp up and I’m not sure how long the internet and power will stay on. With that in mind I decided that decorating a gift box would be a speedy option. The sentiment is quite generic, but makes this a box that can be used for any occasion.

Making up the box is really simple as it comes ready assembled as a base with separate lid. All I had to do was fold in the side flaps on each piece, fold over the top/base and tuck in the tabs. Then the scalloped lid slid effortlessly over the base.
BOX TOP
To decorate the top I began with a 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Night Of Navy Card. Then from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders I chose the splatter folder. After putting the card inside I ran it through my Mini Cut & Emboss Machine.
Next I cut a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Gold Foil Sheet and mounted the embossed piece on top with Mini Glue Dots. On the back of the foil I put Stampin’ Dimensionals and fixed the layers to the box lid.

For the sentiment I chose “It’s your day!” from the A Good Man Stamp Set. Using Night Of Navy ink I stamped it onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card. Then I chose the fancy ‘square’ die from the Ornate Frames Dies to cut it out.
Finally I tied a small Misty Moonlight bow using one of the two ribbons in the 1/8″ Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack. I attached the ribbon to the corner of the sentiment with a Mini Glue Dot. With that done I added the sentiment to the embossed layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my masculine box was complete.
Phew, it looks like I managed to get this done in time. Tomorrow could be another story!
For another project using the Scalloped Kraft Treat Boxes see my earlier blog post Scalloped Kraft Treat Boxes are an easy option.
