For today’s simple Sunday project I have another card that I made as part of my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge. While this is really simple to make, it’s also stunning. With rich colours and copper foil accents the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper (DSP) does all the work for me.

BRIGHTLY GLEAMING
This project is pretty much all about he Brightly Gleaming DSP. Although the paper is a Christmas pack, there are a number of designs that work for any occasion. I chose one with a large decorative copper foil design over a Pretty Peacock coloured background.
Instead of stark white I opted for a Very Vanilla card base. So using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I cut a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece of the Brightly Gleaming paper and fixed it to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
After that I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the DSP and glued that along the bottom edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla Card. With that done I fixed the layer inside the card base.
Finally I cut one last piece of the DSP 2-1/4″ x 6″. This was attached to the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope using liquid glue. Then I trimmed it with Paper Snips, using the edge of the flap as a guide.
FINISHING TOUCHES
I’d only been working a few minutes but the card was almost finished.

For my sentiment I chose “you are simply wonderful” from the Bloom & Grow Stamp Set. This set has some floral images but I actually bought it for the large sentiments. Using Pretty Peacock ink I stamped the sentiment onto the front of my card in the space below the DSP.
At this point I thought I’d be done, but I must admit that it just seemed a little ‘unfinished’. So I cut a piece of the 1/8″ copper metallic ribbon from the Basket Weave and Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack. Then with Tear & Tape Adhesive I fixed the ribbon along the bottom edge of the DSP on the front of the card. With that tiny addition my pretty card became something that was simply stunning.
In no time at all I had a card that I simply love. What do you think?
