Not that I’m panicking, but I realised today that there’s only 7 weeks until Christmas! Of course with the need to mail cards in advance that means that there’s probably only 5 weeks left to get things done. Drastic measures might be needed to get things moving along. For now though let’s start with this elegant season’s greetings card made using the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper (DSP).

BRIGHTLY GLEAMING
I began with a card base of Thick Very Vanilla Card and the Brightly Gleaming 12″ x12″ Designer Series Paper pack.
First I cut two pieces of the DSP, one 1-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece and and one 3″ x 5-1/2″. Next I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the larger piece, copper side up, against the right side of the card base. Then I took the smaller piece and flipped it over before gluing that beside the first one.
To complete the background I added a 1/4″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Pretty Peacock Card over the join in the DSP.
I love that copper foil design and decided that would be my coordinating feature for my project.
So next I cut a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip and glued it down the right side of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Very Vanilla Card. Then the layer was fixed on the inside of the card base.
I cut one final piece of the DSP and glued it to the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Then I cut it to shape with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as my guide.
SEASONS GREETINGS

All I had left to do was the pretty “Season’s Greetings” sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set. So first I stamped it onto some Very Vanilla Card using Pretty Peacock ink.
Initially I’d planned to leave the sentiment fairly plain but opted to die-cut it instead. For that I turned to the Frosted Bouquet Dies as I knew there were two dies that would layer beautifully.
I cut the sentiment using the smaller of the label dies in the set. Then I cut some Vellum Cardstock with the larger one. The vellum layer would add interest to the sentiment without detracting from the gorgeous DSP beneath.
To complete my project I used liquid glue to fix the sentiment to the vellum. Then I added it to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In no time at all my card was done and the Brightly Gleaming DSP was once again the star of the show.
So now I have to get cracking on my seasonal crafts. To get me in the spirit I may break out my Christmas CDs and have them playing while I work. What do you think?
Of course now I’ve had a second cup of coffee I’ve realised that it’s actually EIGHT weeks until Christmas. Still that will go almost as quickly…

PRODUCT LIST
UPDATE 2020: Sadly the Frosted Bouquet Dies have retired and are no longer available from Stampin’ Up!
Well since you put it that way, I’d better amp things up here! Wow! Nothing like a fresh if startling perspective like that to wake me up this morning! LOL — but with gorgeous DSP like this, it does make it so much more doable for sure as your card clearly shows! You always inspire, Tracy! Thanks again for the reality check! Needed that! 😊
Thank you Geraldine
7 weeks, 8 weeks, it’s still coming too fast … my hubby JUST put some Christmas CDs in on my craft table last evening before bedtime, to get me inspired this morning, so guess where I’m going, straight away?! (I’m STILL in shock!)
That extra week isn’t nearly enough to make a difference
This is so beautiful!!! Can’t wait to give it a try!
Thank you Wanda
