As I mentioned yesterday we are expecting a powerful storm to hit us sometime today. In fact as you’re reading this we might be in the thick of it. So I thought it would be prudent to try to get a few projects made ahead of time. With that done, I’m hoping to get the blog posts written just in case we lose power. If I can get today and tomorrow done before that happens I will consider that a victory.
So for today I have a Simple Sunday project for you, this pretty bookmark.

A SIMPLE START
I start all my bookmarks with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of card. This time I shaped the top of the Very Vanilla piece with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
I chose the Varied Vases Stamp Set for the decoration, and stamped the vase in Crumb Cake ink. Next I inked up the flower stem with Granny Apple Green ink but left off the bottom inch of the stem. Then I stamped the stem coming out of my vase.
Finally I inked up the flower image with Gorgeous Grape ink and stamped it onto some scrap paper. Then I lined up the flowers over the stalk and stamped them without reinking the stamp.
TWO-STEP STAMPING – This process of building an image using more than one stamp is called ‘two-step stamping’. It’s a simple process made even easier as Stampin’ Up! use see-through photopolymer material for these kind of sets.
CELEBRATE EVERY TINY VICTORY
As amazing as it might seem my project was already nearing completion.
Next I chose the ‘Celebrate every tiny victory’ sentiment from the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set. Then using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it above the flower images.

Finally I threaded a length of Highland Heather 1/4″ Organdy Ribbon through the slot at the top of the bookmark. Once I’d tied it in a simple knot I was done.
BUNDLE BONUS – On page 45 of the Stampin’ Up! 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue you’ll find the Varied Vases Stamp Set included in a bundle with the coordinating Vases Builder Punch. I didn’t use the punch today but buying the punch and stamp set together will save you 10% off the cost of getting them separately. The new Vibrant Vases Stamp Set also coordinates with this punch making it all the more useful. So I’ve included a link to the bundle in my product list in case you want to look at this in more detail.
ORGANDY RIBBON
The 1/4″ Organdy Ribbon used on my bookmark is actually one of the free items you can get when you place a $60 order (before shipping and taxes). Actually what you get if you choose the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack is 5 spools ribbon. There’s 5 yards each of Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon Lime Twist, and Highland Heather. The colours have been chosen to coordinate with the Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.
This is a very popular item as you can imagine, and unfortunately it’s currently on back order. This means you can add it to your order, but there will be a delay in shipping it to you. More stocks are expected to arrive at the Stampin’ Up! warehouse around February 11th.
So with my Sunday blog done I consider that a small victory. Now to get to work on my blog post for Monday.
