With all the focus now firmly on Christmas it’s hard sometimes to remember that other events happen at this time of year. At the craft fairs I attended last weekend there were lots of people looking for cards, and not just for Christmas. I also sold get well, sympathy, new baby and anniversary cards to name but a few. So today I thought I’d decorate a box for a “special day”. All I needed was the Framed Florets Stamp Set and Dies along with the limited availability Fitting Florets paper.

GOLD POLKA DOTS
I began with the Scalloped Kraft Treat Box which is so pretty and covered in gold foil polka dots. It’s an open box with a separate lid that comes already assemebled. All I had to do was fold in the side tabs, fold over the top (or bottom) and tuck in the tab to close.
Next from the Framed Florets Dies I took the smallest frame piece. Using the die I cut a piece of Polished Pink Card and a piece of Basic White Card. So now in each colour I had a frame and a separate centre oval piece. After setting aside the white frame and pink centre to use on other projects, I fixed the remaining two pieces together using a little sellotape on the back. This would make it easy to mount everything later.
For the sentiment I turned to the Framed Florets Stamp Set and chose “For a special person on a special day”. I tilted my assembled layers and then used Evening Evergreen ink to stamp the sentiment onto the white centre piece.
FITTING FLORETS
All I needed now was a little decoration and for that I chose a sheet from the Fitting Florets 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). I particularly wanted the design featuring sets of two flowers that coordinated with one of the dies. Unfortunately I wasn’t careful with the placement of the die and accidentually cut off part of the leaves at the bottom of the image. So I repeated this process again to get my floral piece.

Now I was ready to start assembling the decorative layers. With the frame resting at an angle on the lid of my box I first attached the ‘good’ floral piece using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals so it sat over the bottom right corner. Then I removed the frame so I could add three gold pearls from the Festive Pearls pack and make sure they were firmly attached.
With that done I used my Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the frame to the box lid.
It was only as I was tidying up that the badly die-cut piece caught my eye and I had an idea. So I picked up my Paper Snips and cut the two flowers from this ‘damaged’ piece. Once cut, I layered the flowers on top of the floral piece on the box using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally my project was finished and you’d never know I had a little crisis moment with my die-cutting. It can be our little secret.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Framed Florets Stamp Set and coordinating Framed Florets Dies using a single “bundle” item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the same two items separately. This bundle will also appear in the January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue.
Please note that the Fitting Florets DSP is only available until January 4th while stocks last. So even if you decide to wait until the New Year to get the stamps and dies, time is running out for this pretty paper. You can see the complete collection in the Fitting Florets section of my online store.
