Finally we’ve had more spring-like weather with sun and milder temperatures. I’m not convinced we’ve seen the last of the snow but hopefully no more winter storms. The grass is starting to turn green and the forsythia at the end of the drive is covered in buds. So it saddens me to have to say goodbye to the Greenery Embossing Folders. This pack of two folders is sized to fit the Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and perfect for spring projects. Today I created this folded “thank you” gift tag.

GREENERY LEAVES
This tag project is another one that was inspired by a some scraps. This time I found a small piece of Very Vanilla Card that I’d embossed using one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. It had obviously been part of a larger piece and this was a 2″ wide off-cut. I decided to keep all of the greenery embossed section and just trimmed off a little of the smooth top section to make it 2″ square.
Next I chose the pretty “thank you” sentiment from the Celebrating You Stamp Set. Using VersaMark ink I stamped it onto the smooth area of the embossed piece. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with copper powder from the Metallics Stampin’ Emboss Powders pack. After tapping off the excess, I removed a few stray specks then melted the remaining powder using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Finally using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the embossed panel onto a 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ layer of Copper Foil Sheet. With that done the rest of the project came together pretty quickly.
SIMPLE FOLDED TAG
For the tag base I cut a 3″ x 6″ piece of Soft Suede Card. Then using the scoring blade on my Paper Trimmer I scored the card at 3″. Next I folded the card along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Now I needed another retiring product that I’m really going to miss, the Detailed Trio Punch. After opening up the card I slid it under the oval hole option of the punch. I adjusted the card so that the crease was just to the right of the centre line on the punch. Then when I punched I was left with a hole on the back of the folded tag.
On the inside of the tag I used liquid glue to attach a 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card. This would provide a place to write a message.

It was at this point that I decided the front of the tag should include strip of card in a complimentary colour. After looking through my Sahara Sand Card scraps I found a 1/2″ strip and cut it to 3″ long. Then I glued it to the tag front, 1/2″ from the bottom edge. With that done I added the layered embossed piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals
To finish I cut 6″ of Very Vanilla twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. I threaded it through the hole in the tag and tied it in a simple knot. At last my final Greenery project was complete.
I’m really pleased with how this tag turned out. That little section of texture below the heat embossed sentiment really adds something to the overall design. I must remember to use that idea on future projects. What do you think?
