It’s Sunday, and after yesterday’s slightly stressful day it’s nice to get back to some simple crafting. With it’s abundance of pretty flowers the Hand-Penned Stamp Set could be considered quite feminine. So today decided to make a quick gift tag that’s more masculine / gender neutral.

HAND-PENNED SIMPLICITY
My project started when I decided on my colour combination, Pale Papaya and Soft Suede. Then I chose Basic White Card for the main layer and cut two pieces at 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.
Next, from the Hand-Penned Stamp Set I took the seed head and stem images. First, using Soft Suede ink I stamped the stem in the bottom right corner on both pieces. Then I finished both images with the seed head stamped in Pale Papaya ink.
That just left the sentiment and I chose “Feel better friend” from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set. Going back to the Soft Suede ink I stamped it in the top left corner of one piece and set it aside.
For the tag base I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 3″ x 6″ piece of Soft Suede Card and scored it at 3″. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
To turn the mini card into a tag I placed the open card into the oval hole side of the Detailed Trio Punch. Then I punched the hole just to the left of the crease. Finally from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack I cut a 6″ piece of white twine, threaded it through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.
Now I was ready for the stamped pieces beginning with the one with just the image. This was to line the tag base and I fixed it into place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

With that done I cut a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Pale Papaya Card and used liquid glue to mount the sentiment layer on top. Then I added a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Finally I added the assembled layers onto the tag front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my tag was complete.
I really like the versatility of this gift tag. I could make this in a few different colour combinations and leave off the sentiment. Then when I need a tag in a hurry I could simply add a sentiment to suit that specific occasion. What do you think?

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set with the coordinating Penned Flowers Dies (not used today) using a single ‘bundle’ item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you wanted to explore that option.
