It’s Sunday, and after yesterday’s slightly stressful day it’s nice to get back to some simple crafting. With it’s abundance of pretty flowers the Hand-Penned Stamp Set could be considered quite feminine. So today decided to make a quick gift tag that’s more masculine / gender neutral.
My project started when I decided on my colour combination, Pale Papaya and Soft Suede. Then I chose Basic White Card for the main layer and cut two pieces at 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.
Next, from the Hand-Penned Stamp Set I took the seed head and stem images. First, using Soft Suede ink I stamped the stem in the bottom right corner on both pieces. Then I finished both images with the seed head stamped in Pale Papaya ink.
That just left the sentiment and I chose “Feel better friend” from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set. Going back to the Soft Suede ink I stamped it in the top left corner of one piece and set it aside.
For the tag base I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut a 3″ x 6″ piece of Soft Suede Card and scored it at 3″. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
To turn the mini card into a tag I placed the open card into the oval hole side of the Detailed Trio Punch. Then I punched the hole just to the left of the crease. Finally from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack I cut a 6″ piece of white twine, threaded it through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.
Now I was ready for the stamped pieces beginning with the one with just the image. This was to line the tag base and I fixed it into place using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
With that done I cut a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Pale Papaya Card and used liquid glue to mount the sentiment layer on top. Then I added a few Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Finally I added the assembled layers onto the tag front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and my tag was complete.
I really like the versatility of this gift tag. I could make this in a few different colour combinations and leave off the sentiment. Then when I need a tag in a hurry I could simply add a sentiment to suit that specific occasion. What do you think?
AUGUST CARD KIT
Today sees the start of the subscription period for the August 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit called Hope Box. The kit will contain everything you need to make nine greetings cards (3 each of 3 designs) with coordinating envelopes. As well as all the prepared pieces for the cards, a mini ink spot and exclusive stamp set, there’ll be extra pieces too. Use these pieces to turn the specially printed box into a ‘box of hope’ and fill it with memories or inspiring items for yourself or others.
Subscribe now to guarantee you’ll get this unique kit (supplies may be limited towards the end of the subscription period which closes on August 10th).
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set with the coordinating Penned Flowers Dies (not used today) using a single ‘bundle’ item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you wanted to explore that option.
