It’s the start of a new week and another chance to get my craft room organised. While waiting for my pre-order of products from the new 2022/2023 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue I’m making room by sorting through the retiring things, and deciding what to keep and what to sell. I started well enough but then got distracted by the Handsomely Suited Stamp Set and Suit & Tie Dies. These coordinating products are on the retiring list and I just couldn’t say goodbye without using them to make one final project.

IN GOOD TASTE
As part of my organisation plans I realised that I’d need a new pad of sticky notes so I sat down to make one. From my stash I found a pale blue 3″ x 3″ pad that I’d bought at Walmart a while ago. That gave me an idea for a colour scheme and I pulled out some retiring Misty Moonlight Card.
After using my Paper Trimmer to cut the card to 3-1/8″ x 5″, I scored it at 3-1/8″ and 3-1/2″. Then I folded the card along the scored lines and sharpened the creases really well using my Bone Folder. This piece became the cover of the pad with the smaller end section fixed to the back of the pad using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
To decorate the top of the cover I wanted a layer of patterned paper. So I pulled out the retiring In Good Taste 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Among the various patterns I found the perfect design in shades of grey. So I cut a piece 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ and mounted it onto a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Balmy Blue Card. Then with more liquid glue I fixed the assembled layers to the top of the sticky note cover.
Finally I glued the pad onto a 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Misty Moonlight Card.
HANDSOMELY FINISHED
I initially thought I’d add a sentiment to the top but in the end decided to just add a little die-cut decoration.
I started with some Balmy Blue Card and the ‘collar’ (W-shaped die) from the Suit & Tie Dies. Then after cutting out the card I glued it at the top of the DSP layer in the centre.

Next I chose the narrow bow-tie image from the Handsomely Suited Stamp Set. First I stamped the image onto a scrap of Cherry Cobbler Card with Tuxedo Black ink. Then I cut it out using the coordinating die from the the Suit & Tie Dies.
To finish I glued the bow-tie to the top of the sticky notes cover and my final Handsomely Suited project was done.
I’m really pleased with how this simple sticky note pad turned out. It definitely makes a change to create a design that’s more masculine / gender-neutral. It’s going to be odd not having this stamp set and dies in my collection.
