So a couple of years ago my daughter introduced me to “baby shark”. Apparently it’s a traditional children’s song that went viral in 2016, but it’s much older than that. Anyway, the lyrics, like most children’s songs, are simple and guaranteed to get into your head. So with that in mind here’s today’s simple Sunday project, a bookmark featuring a baby shark. Doo doo doo doo doo doo…

SIMPLE SHARK
I began buy cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Whisper White Card. Next I cut a matching strip of a wave design from the Whale Of A Time 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the two pieces together to create my bookmark base.
Once the bookmark was dry, I punched the top using the oval hole option on the Detailed Trio Punch. Now I was ready to stamp the image and sentiment from the Shark Frenzy Stamp Set.
I began by stamping the small shark outline using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I filled in the colour using Smoky Slate ink and the small solid image. As the stamp set is made from clear photopolymer it’s really simple to line up the images.

With that done I stamped “baby” and “shark” in a curve close to the completed image using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I stamped the long “doo doo doo doo doo doo” sentiment below it and towards the punched end of the bookmark.
Finally I cut two 6″ pieces of Night of Navy baker’s twine from the Well Suited Twine Combo pack. Next I folded them in half and passed the loops through the hole at the top of the bookmark. Then once I passed the ends through the loops and pulled tight my project was complete.
This was such a fun project to make and I think I know the perfect person to give it to…

BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Shark Frenzy Stamp Set in a bundle with the coordinating Sharks Dies (not used today).
