I’ve decided I love small sentiments. They’re so versatile and can be used on other things besides cards. Just recently I purchased the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set and couldn’t wait to get it inky.

FOLDED GIFT TAG
While I like designing big fancy gift tags, sometimes I need something simpler and quicker to make. So today I started with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Blueberry Bushel Card and scored it on the long side at 2-1/4″.
I folded the strip along the scored line and then sharpened the crease with my Bone Folder. With that done I inserted the folded end of the tag into the Detailed Trio Punch and punched it using the oval hole option.
Next I cut a piece of Whisper White Card 2″ x 3″ that I’d use to line the tag and provide an area to write on. I punched an oval hole at the top of this piece and then trimmed a tiny bit off the top. This would mean that the insert wouldn’t interfere with the folding of the tag. I slid the insert inside the tag, lined up the punched holes and then fixed it into place with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Now the insert was in place I threaded some Whisper White Baker’s Twine through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.
ITTY BITTY CHRISTMAS
In no time at all I was ready to ink up the “Happy Christmas” sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set. So using Blueberry Bushel ink I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the white insert.
All I had left to do was create the embellishment for the front of the tag.
For this I turned to the new Christmas Layers Dies and chose the larger of the two separate snowflakes. I cut the snowflake from Silver Glimmer Paper and then fixed it to the tag with a Mini Glue Dot.
To finish the tag I simply added a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the centre of the snowflake.
This gift tag design is very versatile. You could make the Christmas tags using a different base colour to coordinate with your gift wrap. Or you could use an entirely different sentiment and image to make the tag for another occasion. You could even make the tag bases with inserts, and decide on the sentiment and embellishment just before you attach it to a gift.
