It’s grey and miserable today and not very inviting outside. So I’ve decided to stay snug and warm in my studio playing with bright colours. I love how they immediately cheer me up, like on this card I created on World Card Making Day earlier this month.

BRIGHT COLOURS
When I began this card I wanted it to be really bright so I chose Lovely Lipstick and Granny Apple Green ink pads. For the sentiment I went with Basic Gray. All the stamps I needed were in the Daisy Lane Stamp Set.
I cut a piece of Whisper White Card and stamped the fern image twice around the bottom left corner. Then I stamped the sentiment in the top right corner. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the piece onto some Pineapple Punch Card and set it aside.
Next I needed to create my daisies and stamped the smaller of the two daisies twice onto Whisper White Card. Then using the Medium Daisy Punch I punched out the two images. I used liquid glue to fix one daisy in the leafy corner of my sentiment layer. Then to finish I glued the second daisy on top with the petals between the petals of the daisy below.
With the panel complete I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach it to a Thick Whisper White Card base.

DAISY DESIGN
My plan was to use the same daisy and fern image to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope but I was a little worried about the fancy centre on the daisy. If I was to simply stamp the image twice the overlapping centres might look blurred. But I had a plan!
I inked up the stamp with Lovely Lipstick ink but before stamping I removed the ink from the centre using a Blender Pen. Then I stamped the image in the bottom right corner on the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope. I inked up the daisy image again but this time simply rotated it slightly to the petals would fit between the first set. This worked beautifully and was really pleased with how bright and crisp the centre appeared.
TIP – Use a Blender Pen to remove ink from the surface of a stamp. Touch the Blender Pen to the ink you want to remove, then scribble on some scrap paper to remove the ink from the Blender Pen nib. Repeat until all the required ink is removed and the Blender Pen scribbles are clear.
Then I repeated the same process to stamp a daisy in the bottom right corner on a layer of Whisper White Card.
With the flowers done I turned to the fern image and the bright Granny Apple Green ink pad. I stamped two leaves on the envelope and the card layer, one either side of the daisy. Then all that was left was to use liquid glue to attach the card layer to the inside of my card base and my bright and cheerful card was complete.
