I have no idea how it can be Sunday again. The days are flying by far too fast for my liking, if only my list of chores would disappear as fast. I’m determined to make a dent in them today so my blog will be short and sweet. I’ve gone back to an older but still available stamp set Lovely You for this quick folded gift tag. It’s the perfect project for a little simple Sunday crafting.

BLOCK STAMPED BACKGROUND
My project began with a 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla Card and an Acrylic Block C. Then I chose the colours for the ‘ground’ and ‘sky’; Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party.
To create the background I gently pressed about 1/2″ of the Acrylic Block onto the Pear Pizzazz ink pad. Then I turned the block around so I could press the rest of it onto the Pool Party ink pad. Next I took a Stampin’ Spritzer and sprayed a light mist of clean water onto the inky block, before pressing the block onto the card piece.
TIP – using standard card meant the resulting background was a little spotty, which I quite like. If you prefer the ink to spread more smoothly use Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper instead.
While the background was drying I set to work on the tag base. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored a 3″ x 6″ piece of Very Vanilla Card, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
To add a hole for the twine I needed the Detailed Trio Punch. After opening the card I placed it into the punch with the crease a little to the right of the centre line marked on the oval hole option. Then I punched down.
LOVELY YOU
Once the background was dry I was ready for a little stamping using the Lovely You Stamp Set and Evening Evergreen ink.

First I chose the “let’s cheer you up!” sentiment and stamped it in the top right corner of the inked area. Then I could see the available space that was left for the leafy image. Rather than keeping to the inked area I decided to allow the edge of the image to extend a little outside the background.
With the stamping complete I cut a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Evening Evergreen Card. Next I mounted the stamped layer on top using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). To add some simple interest I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the assembled layer to the front of the folded tag.
Finally I threaded some Very Vanilla twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack through the hole and tied it in a simple knot. With that my gift tag was complete.
Now it’s time for breakfast and a fresh cup of coffee before I tackle that to do list. Whatever you have planned for today I hope you’re able to find some creative time for yourself.
