I’m doing well after my recent cataract surgery although as I’ve only had one eye done so far my vision is a bit lop-sided. Still, the second surgery is scheduled for next week so I’ll be able to really get back to my crafting soon. That said I couldn’t resist making a quick project using the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit called Memorable Meadows. The gorgeous watercolour scenes are hard to cut up, but that’s exactly what I decided to do. The result was this pretty birthday gift card holder.

DAISY MEADOWS GIFT CARD
First I cut the front off the landscape daisy card base from the Memorable Meadows kit. Then from that I used the main die from the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies to cut out the basic gift card holder piece. Next I took a large purple vellum piece from the kit and covered the back with some Adhesive Sheet. With that done I used the same die to cut out the vellum and give it a scalloped top to match the back portion of the gift card holder. All I had to do was peel off the backing from the Adhesive Sheet and fix it into place on the die-cut card.

Now I folded the card along the ‘scored’ lines left by the die and put a little Tear & Tape Adhesive along the side and bottom tabs. Finally I tucked the tabs in, folded over the front section and pressed it firmly into place.
Going back to the Memorable Meadows kit I chose the wide sentiment label and the “have a beautiful birthday” sentiment. However, instead of using the included Garden Green ink spot, I found my Gorgeous Grape ink pad and used that.

The sentiment piece was too wide for the the gift card holder and I didn’t really want to cut it. But I had an idea… After flipping the sentiment over I put a line of 3 Stampin’ Dimensionals down the centre. Then I stacked two more Stampin’ Dimensionals on top of each one. I fixed some Tear & Tape Adhesive down the sides of the sentiment before using my Bone Folder to curve the right and left sides of the label up. With that done I attached it the front of the gift card holder with the centre of the sentiment lifted up.
Finally I added three sequins from the kit and my quick project was complete. Spring has definitely sprung in my craft studio.
