As someone who creates new projects every day I’m always looking for new sources of inspiration for my Stampin’ Up! supplies. I’m a member of the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team but oddly enough haven’t actually taken part in a lot of other challenges. I’ve think that I should change that and so today I created a project for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #293.
The brief was simple, create a project using Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party, and this is what I came up with.
I decided to keep my project super simple with a background of Whisper White Card sponged with Pool Party ink over a mask I cut using the large cloud die from the Up & Away Thinlits.
I cut and scored a piece of Pool Party Card using my Stampin’ Trimmer, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base. Then sponged background was then added to the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
On a separate layer of Whisper White Card I sponged a few clouds at the top and then fixed this piece inside the card base. More clouds were sponged over the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope.
Going back to my Big Shot and Magnetic Platform I used the large hot air balloon die from the Up & Away Thinlits to cut out a piece of Smoky Slate Card. I attached the balloon section to a layer of Daffodil Delight card with liquid glue and then cut around it with Paper Snips. The basket section was fixed to a piece of Pool Party Card and I cut around that too before mounting the hot air balloon onto the front of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
All that was left was the sentiment, taken from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set and stamped onto a narrow strip of Whisper White Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. This was attached to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and I was done.
I can’t believe how quickly this project came together. I love the the combination of colours and simplicity of the design and I hope you like it too.
