Today I was determined to make another Christmas gift tag and I knew what I wanted to use. I had in my head a vision of copper pine cones hanging from a leafy branch, so that's what I made. NEW TAG BASE I often use tag topper punches or simple die cut shapes for my tag bases, but not today. Today I decided to use the Beautiful Boughs Dies for something quite different. There are two 'label' type dies in the set and in the end I used both of them to cut some Thick Very Vanilla ... VIEW POST
Season’s Greetings Getting Closer
Don't look now but two months from today will be Christmas Day! That means that I've already wasted most of the past four months as far as my Christmas crafting is concerned. I'm probably not the only one either. It's hard to start thinking about 'season's greetings' when it's warm and sunny and we haven't even had Thanksgiving yet. But I no longer have that excuse, and if I'm to get everything done in time for Christmas 2020 I really should stop procrastinating. So for today's simple ... VIEW POST
Don’t Overlook Christmas Layers
With all the lovely products available in the Stampin' Up! August to December Mini Catalogue it's easy to overlook older products. So yesterday when I came across the Christmas Layers Dies I put them on my desk to remind me to use them. Little did I know that would be just the start. By the time I'd finished, I'd used two stamp sets and two sets of dies from the Annual Catalogue. CHRISTMAS LAYERS As I said, this project all started with the Christmas Layers Dies. From the three larger ... VIEW POST
Enjoying A Little Snowflake Splendor
It may be 7am in the morning but I'm already melting in the heatwave we[re experiencing here in Nova Scotia. So hopefully you'll forgive me for thinking of winter. I may have become a little obsessed with Stampin' Up!'s designer series paper (DSP) recently and I opened another new pack today. Snowflake Splendor is the name of the 12" x 12" pack and it's part of the Snowflake Splendor Suite. Today however I didn't use the stamp set and dies from the suite. This project is all about a ... Olive And Cinnamon Branches
After yesterday's marathon paper piecing session I resolved to make today's project much more quickly. It's the 24th, which means another month has passed since I suggested you make a start on your Christmas crafting. Sadly I didn't take my own advice and now it's now only five months away and I've done very little. So today I thought I'd make an effort using the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set and coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies. These appeared in last year's Holiday Catalogue and were carried ... VIEW POST
Modern Christmas Colours
Can you believe it's December tomorrow? I've no idea where November went. Once again I've got to the end of the month before I got to the end of my to do list. I'm going to make a concerted effort to be productive today so my blog post will be a quick one. I have been experimenting in my studio and ended up with this card featuring more modern Christmas colours. SIMPLE BASE I began by cutting and scoring some Thick Very Vanilla Card to make my card base. Then I folded it along the ... VIEW POST
