Today’s the day. The very long list of products being retired from the two current Stampin’ Up! Catalogues are now officially retiring. Many of them are on sale at up to 60% off. However all are now only available while stocks last. This includes all retiring stamp sets as Stampin’ Up! focuses on making all the new sets for the 2023/2024 Annual Catalogue. So while it’s still available to buy, here’s one final project created using the gloriously glossy Ready To Ride 12” x 12” Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
READY TO RIDE PAPER
So this gift tag was created for my amazing son-in-law who’s a Ford Master Technician in the UK. As soon as I saw this spanner/wrench pattern I knew it would be perfect for him. Then when I got the Rhino Ready Stamp Set I found the perfect sentiment and the rest, as they say, is history.
I began by cutting the paper and a piece of Smoky Slate Card using the largest ‘rectangular’ die from the Something Fancy Dies set. Then I cut 6″ of black twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. After folding the twine in half I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the loop to the top of the die-cut card. Finally I used more liquid glue to add the die-cut DSP on top to create my tag base with the twine sandwiched in the middle.
Then from the Rhino Ready Stamp Set I chose the “You’re built tough” sentiment which is very similar to a Ford advertising slogan. Using VersaMark ink I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Smoky Slate Card. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with black powder from the Basics Embossing Powders pack. After tapping off the excess powder I removed a few stray specks then melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Finally I cut around the words with my Paper Snips then fixed the sentiment to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Job done. If only fixing cars was as easy.
This tag is perfect and I plan to use some of the remaining DSP to create a box for a birthday gift. I hope he likes it.
