Well we survived the storm overnight and the power stayed on. Not everyone was so lucky and I sincerely hope they can be reconnected in time for Christmas. It’s Christmas Eve and we no longer have weeks, or even days to complete our preparations. Instead the panic is driven by mere hours and minutes. So today’s very quick project is more of an idea than a specific how-to. Simply grab some pretty paper that works with your colour scheme, a little ribbon and one or two bits from the garden.

I began by cutting a 3″ x 6″ piece from the Texture Chic 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I chose this size particulary because it means I can make eight of these silverware wraps from one 12″ x 12″ piece of paper. After rolling the paper into a cylinder I joined the ends together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

Next I folded my dinner napkin into three so I could slide it into the paper cylinder and added the silverware. Then I wrapped some Gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around the bundle and tied it in a square knot.
Finally I added a couple of small pine cones taken from the garden a few weeks ago, and just like that my project was done. See I told you it was quick!
I did consider stamping a Christmas sentiment and adding that to the bundle. However without it my silverware wrap will work for lots of other occasions too. If you don’t have little pine cones to hand, you could add holly or other leaves, whether from the garden or perhaps die-cut ones if you have time. Or you might even use a small seasonal decoration instead. The possibilities are endless.
In case you missed it I showed a simple table favour idea in my blog post Candy on the side.
