Today’s simple Sunday project could have a dual purpose. With the sentiment “A little something just for you” it could be a gift tag. But unlike many of the tags I’ve made recently this one is folded, so it could be a mini card too. Either way these were quick and easy to make.
FIRST CUT YOUR CARD
I began by cutting the card for the tags. Using my Paper Trimmer I cut some Whisper White Card 3″ x 6″. Then with the long side at the top I scored it at 3″, folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
For the main panel I cut more Whisper White Card, this time 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″.
Finally I cut my contrasting mat layers 2-11/16″ x 2-11/16″, one from Just Jade Card and one from Cinnamon Cider Card.
For the floral image and sentiment I turned to the new Floral Phrases Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in the bottom left corner using Tuxedo Black ink. Then added the sentiment above it.
To colour the images I decided to use something else new, Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Cinnamon Cider, Magenta Madness and Just Jade.
Once the flowers were coloured I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount the floral pieces onto the mat layers. Then once I fixed the assembled layers to the folded cards my pretty tags were complete.
I haven’t added any twine or ribbon to the tags as I wanted to leave that until I actually want to use them. At that point I could punch a small hole at the back for the twine if needed.
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set in a bundle with the Fancy Tag Topper Punch (not used today). This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to look at this option. You can also see a project made using the punch in my blog post Campology – not just for campers.
