When I was thinking about today’s project it had to include a sneak peek from one of the new catalogues. Plus it had to meet my Simple Sunday criteria – simple to make or a simple layout. I think I nailed it today.

THANK YOU
After Christmas, thank you cards are always useful so that was where my design started. I found what I needed in the new Special Someone Stamp Set.
Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the sentiment onto a small piece of Whisper White Card. Then I stamped the raccoon image above it and mounted the piece onto Basic Black Card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base.
With that done I added the assembled layers to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a separate layer of Whisper White Card I stamped the raccoon in the bottom right corner. Then I fixed this piece inside the card base.
Finally I stamped the raccoon on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope and I was done in record time.
SPECIAL SOMEONE
Whatever you think about the real life critters, you have to admit this raccoon image is cute. I mean, look at the expression on his face, and the way he’s holding his hands. The Special Someone Stamp Set also includes cute squirrel and mouse images too. Plus there’s balloons and flowers for them to hold and some sweet sentiments. I have a feeling I’m going to have a lot of fun with this stamp set in the coming months.
When you look at the stamp set cover you’ll notice some solid images. These allow you to ‘colour in’ the main images by stamping the lined image and solid image on top of each other. Lining up the images is as simple as looking through your acrylic block and the photopolymer stamp. Today I decided to use only the line art image, but that’s the beauty of this set, it looks good either way.
UPDATED – From February 4th for a limited time you will be able to buy dies that coordinate with this stamp set! More about that in a future blog post.
Well that’s all from me for today. I’ll have another sneak peek for you tomorrow. In the meantime here’s a look at the Special Someone Stamp Set.
