I’ve not been feeling at all well for the past couple of days, but Christmas continues to get ever closer. So I decided to keep things pretty simple for today’s project. With the Star of Light Stamp Set and coordinating Starlight Thinlits I came up with this card.
SIMPLE CARD BASE
I began with a piece of Blueberry Bushel Card, cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base.
Next I took a Fine-Tip Glue Pen and gently touched the tip onto the surface of the card without squeezing the bottle. Then I randomly added more tiny drops of glue over the front of the card base. With the glue in place I sprinkled the surface of the card with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter. Then I tapped off the excess and set the card aside to dry.
STAR OF LIGHT
From the Star of Light Stamp Set I started with the ‘Star of Wonder’ sentiment, stamped onto a strip of Shimmery White Card using Tuxedo Black ink.
Then I took a layer of Whisper White Card and over the top right and bottom left corners I stamped the large starry swoosh with Balmy Blue ink. Next towards the top of the layer I added the second half of the sentiment using Tuxedo Black ink.
Then I stamped the same starry swoosh across the top right and bottom left corner on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope.
STARLIGHT THINLITS
Now it was time for my Big Shot to get to work with the Starlight Thinlits.
I used the large outline die to cut a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. Then I used the largest of the fancy dies to cut out some Daffodil Delight Card. Finally I used the smaller fancy die to cut out some Sparkle Glimmer Paper.
Using Mini Glue Dots I stacked the three die cuts on top of one another and finished off with the largest Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
FINAL ASSEMBLY
With all the pieces prepared all I had to do was use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the sentiment to the front of the card. Then I added the layered star.
Finally I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to fix the Whisper White layer inside the card base and I was done.
Very quick and easy, but still has a wow factor. All in all I’m quite pleased with this project.
