Yesterday’s gift tag was a fun exploration of a new die set, but all those little pieces for the floral decoration were quite fiddly. So for today’s card I decided it might be a good idea to keep things much simpler. In the Enjoy The Journey 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I’d noticed a beautiful starry sky scene and kept being drawn back to it. This would be the coordinating feature for my project, all I needed was the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set and some ribbon.

STARRY BACKGROUND
I began by cutting a 6″x 6″ piece of the DSP, enough to decorate the front and inside of my card as well as the envelope. From that square of DSP I cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ strip. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed it to the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Finally I trimmed off the excess paper following the edge of the flap with my Paper Snips.
Going back to the DSP piece I next cut a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece. Then I glued that onto a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ layer of Starry Sky Card leaving a border along one edge. Finally I trimmed the remaining 3/4″ DSP strip to 5-1/4″ and glued it at the top of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card.
For my card base I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Thick Basic White Card. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I used liquid glue to fix the assembled Basic White layer on the inside.
It was only then that I remembered my sentiment. So from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set I chose “you are in my prayers”. Using Starry Sky ink I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner on the front of my card base.
Next I cut two pieces of Starry Sky 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon, wrapped it around the layered DSP, and secured it on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Finally I added the layers to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. With that my project was complete.
Blue and white is a favourite colour combination and always seems to result in elegant cards. Once again I wasn’t disappointed with my efforts. I hope you like it too.
PRODUCT LIST
RETIRING PREDICTION – In just three weeks the list of products that are being retired from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue and January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue with be revealed by Stampin’ Up! From the products I used today I’m pretty certain that Hope & Prayer Stamp Set will go. This is beacuse stamp sets with a religious theme never seem to last more than one season. In addition, DSP is only very rarely carried over so I think The Enjoy the Journey paper will go too. Finally, in recent years it seems that In Color embellishments and ribbon also only last one year before being replaced. For that reason I think that the 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon will only be available while stock last.
