Over the past few weeks I’ve made quite a few birthday and thank you cards so today I wanted to do something different. That said, it was only after finishing that I realised it was another project using the Earthen Elegance 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). Still, it seemed like the perfect gender-neutral background to show off my column of die-cut hearts. For the sentiment it was back to the aptly named Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. The finished result was most certainly a labour of love for me.

PINK HEARTS
I began my project with scraps of Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo Card. Then from the Give It A Whirl Dies I found the three small hearts and simply cut out a stack of pieces.
While looking at the hearts I decided that I needed a dark background so they’d really stand out. It was then that I began looking though my packs of DSP. Earthen Elegance was the first pack I grabbed and once I saw the dark blue sheet with a subtle abstract pattern I simply didn’t look any further.
For my card base I cut and scored some Thick Basic White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. With that done I cut a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of the DSP and attached it to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
The inside of the card and envelope were simply decorated with one of each colour of the smallest hearts. Using a little liquid glue I simply fixed the two hearts to the centre of the flap on a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I glued two more hearts in the centre near the top of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card, before adding the layer to the inside of the card base.
WONDERFUL THOUGHTS
Although I’d already decided to create a column of hearts I still needed a sentiment. So from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set I chose “My heart will always be tied to yours”. It seemed appropriate considering the design I had in mind. Then using Misty Moonlight ink I stamped the sentiment onto some Basic White Card. To cut it out I went back to the Give It A Whirl Dies and found a circle die that was the perfect size.

Now it was time to build the column and I started by adding the sentiment to the card front just a little below the centre with Stampin’ Dimemsionals. From there I added large and medium hearts in line above and below the sentiment, securing each one with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Once the column was complete I trimmed the top and bottom hearts with Paper Snips, using the card base as a guide. And just like that my project was complete.

BUNDLE BONUS – The Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set is available by itself, or with coordinating dies (not used today) as part of the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. What’s really interesting is that 14 of the dies are designed to cut neatly around the 14 sentiments in the stamp set. Plus there’s five other decorative dies. However if you want both the stamp set and coordinating dies you’ll save 10% if you order them using the single ‘bundle’ item number. I’ve included a link to the bundle below so you can explore this option if you wish.
