While you’re sitting at home, frustrated at the new norm that is social distancing, remember you are still playing an important role in the fight against COVID19. By staying away from others outside your household you are slowing the spread of the virus. Even though sometimes it may not feel that way, you are making a difference. You are also helping to minimise the strain on our essential services. You may be one small piece of this mosaic but without your contribution nothing else makes sense. This was my thought as I sat down to create today’s project.

MOSAIC MOOD
Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) hasn’t seen much love recently in my studio. So today I decided it should feature prominently on my project.
I started by cutting a panel, and with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) mounted it onto some Mint Macaron Card. Then I cut a 3/4″ strip and glued that along the bottom edge of a Very Vanilla Card layer.
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some Thick Very Vanilla Card. I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with my Bone Folder to create a card base. Then using liquid glue I added the Very Vanilla layer to the inside of the card.
I cut one final piece of the mosaic design and glued it to the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed the paper with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
For my making a difference sentiment I turned to the By The Dock Stamp Set. Using Soft Suede ink to coordinate with the DSP, I stamped it onto Very Vanilla Card. Then I cut out the sentiment using the #5 plain edged die from the Layering Circles set (counting from the smallest up).
To go under the sentiment I cut some Mint Macaron Card with the slightly larger #6 plain edge circle die. Then I layered the two circles together with liquid glue.

My project was almost finished but first I wanted to add a little ribbon. So I wrapped a length of Terracotta Tile 1/4″ ribbon from the new Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack around the main layer. I secured the ribbon on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive before using liquid glue to attach the layer to the card base.
Then once I’d added the layered sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals I was done.

I’m always amazed by the care and attention to detail that goes into mosaics. By themselves those tiny tiles seem rather seem unremarkable. Some are quiet and understated, some shine and stand out, but when they’re all put together they make up something rather special don’t you think?
Thank you for being part of the mosaic of my life.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the By The Dock Stamp Set as part of a bundle with the coordinating Dockside Dies (not used today). This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to look at this option.
