Happy Father’s Day everyone. I may not be a father but I’m definitely going to try to relax today. Yesterday I was at an event selling my cards and other products, and talking to lots of people about Stampin’ Up! I came home satisfied with how everything went, but very tired. It’s a good job I already had today’s Simple Sunday project ready for you.

RELAX YOUR WAY
I simply adore the A Good Man Stamp Set and this image of a man in a deckchair was perfect for my project.
I began by stamping him three times using Tuxedo Black ink. First onto a small piece of Whisper White Card with the Relax Your Way! sentiment underneath. Then in the bottom left corner of a layer of Whisper White Card. Finally in the bottom left corner on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope.
With all the stamping complete I could then turn to the colouring. I decided to use a variety of Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers for this.
TIP – Stampin’ Blends are designed to saturate the card with colour and the ink can sometimes bleed through to the back. For this reason I always put some scrap paper inside my envelope before colouring on it with Stampin’ Blends.
Starting with the man I used light Balmy Blue for his shirt and light Old Olive for his shorts. Then for the chair I used light Poppy Parade and dark Daffodil Delight.
Next I coloured his hat with light Soft Suede and his skin with light Petal Pink. Finally I finished off the ground with light Daffodil Delight and dark Crumb Cake.

Although you can shade and blend with Stampin’ Blends, I wanted to keep things really simple. So my image is more about the smooth bold colours.
Once I’d coloured all three images I was ready to complete the rest of the project.
SIMPLE LAYERS
This project is all about that great image, so I wanted to keep the layers very simple.
I started by using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount the sentiment piece onto some Night of Navy Card.
Then I used liquid glue to attach a striped piece from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack to some Night of Navy Card.
Next with more liquid glue I attached the layered DSP to the front of a card base made from Thick Whisper White Card. The layered sentiment was then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I used liquid glue to fix the Whisper White Layer inside the card base and my Simple Sunday project was complete.
So that’s me done for now. Depending on the weather I may spend the rest of the day in the garden, or in my craft studio. Either way it’s a great way to relax.
