After a couple of projects that required my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, today’s card is much simpler. I received the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set (and coordinating dies) in my recent order and couldn’t wait to try it out. The result was this really quick and easy “thinking of you” card created using just stamps, ink and card.

QUIET MEADOW
I began the project by cutting a 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic White Card. In the centre I then stamped the large flower spray from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set using Evening Evergreen ink.
To colour the flower I used Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. Then I used a Blending Brush to soften the edges of the layer with Night Of Navy ink.
For my sentiment I chose “Thinking of You”, one of the four sentiments in the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. Once again using Night Of Navy ink I stamped the sentiment onto a 5/8″ x 2-1/8″ strip of Basic White Card. Then I mounted it onto a 7/8″ x 2-3/8″ strip of Night Of Navy Card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Now I was ready to start putting my card together.
SIMPLE ASSEMBLY
Using my Paper Trimmer I started by cutting and scoring some Night of Navy Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base.
It was only at this point that I thought about the inside of the card and the envelope. I could have stamped the flower image on these parts of the project, but I’d already cleaned and put away that stamp.

So, feeling lazy, I decided instead to copy the soft Night Of Navy ink applied with the Blending Brush. First I inked around a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. This really did make the usually stark white liner look almost dreamlike. Then I fixed the layer inside the card base with liquid glue.
Happy with the effect, I continued by inking around the edges on the front of a Basic White Medium Envelope too.

To complete the card I mounted the floral layer onto the left side of the card front using liquid glue. Then I attached the layered sentiment towards the bottom with some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and I was done.
This project really is quick and easy to do, and I love how the blending brush added a softness to the design. It really seems appropriate for a “thinking of you” card don’t you think?
