Today my plan was to create something using the retiring Lift Me Up Stamp Set and coordinating Up & Away Thinlits Dies. In that respect I succeeded. But as I was starting to put the card together I realised that I’d stamped the images using the wrong ink pad. So instead of my intended Balmy Blue, you now have a little sneak peek of the new Seaside Spray.

IN THE CLOUDS
I started the project with a layer of Whisper White Card and the two shaded cloud images from the Lift Me Up Stamp Set. Using the new Seaside Spray ink I stamped the clouds randomly over the whole piece. I really liked how this turned out so decided the clouds would be my coordinating feature.
For my card base I decided to use one of the large cards from the retiring Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. Using the same ink and stamps I added a few clouds along the top inside the card. Then I stamped more clouds along the top on the front of the coordinating envelope.
To finish, I stamped a large and two small clouds on some scraps of Whisper White Card.
All I had left to stamp was the happy birthday sentiment, in Seaside Spray onto a strip of Whisper White Card.
SIMPLE LAYERS
Before I went any further I needed to cut out the three clouds. I did this using my retiring Big Shot and Magnetic Platform with the coordinating dies from the Up & Away Thinlits.

With that done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the main cloud layer to a piece of Seaside Spray Card. Then I added this to the front of the card base.
More liquid glue was used to mount the sentiment onto Seaside Spray Card with the large die-cut cloud attached to the bottom left corner.
To finish the sentiment I used pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the two smaller clouds. Then I added the assembled piece to the card base. Job done.

SEASIDE SPRAY
I hadn’t planned to start my sneak peeks from the Stampin’ Up! 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue this early. After all, customers won’t be able to buy the new product for another month yet. But having accidentally used the Seaside Spray ink pad instead of Balmy Blue, I wasn’t going to start my project over.

So as the cat’s already out of the bag so-to-speak, here’s a photo of the Seaside Spray and Balmy Blue Card for comparison. Hopefully you’ll see a true version of the colour but to be honest it can sometimes depend on your computer settings, or even the angle of your laptop screen. Although it’s most definitely blue, to me Seaside Spray has a slight greyish / lavender undertone. I am already sad that we’ll only have this colour for two years, I have a feeling it could be my new goto pale blue.

Love seeing this stamp set being used again, Tracy. This blue almost looks like what we might once have called a “Wedgwood Blue” but maybe that’s just the way it’s coming across on the computer screen? Think I’m going to love it. TFS and this is one of those happy mistakes that I’m glad you made! Have a good crafting weekend!
Thank you Geraldine. I think your reference to ‘Wedgewood blue’ is spot on.
