Another Hope & Prayer

July 19, 2022 Leave a Comment

Although I managed to get yesterday’s blog post published it wasn’t without some difficulty. I’d hoped this was a temporary glitch but as the day wore on there was no improvement. So I made a call to my internet provider who did a few tests and adjustments, all to no avail. Finally they decided to replace the modem, again, and hope that sorts out the problem. Thankfully that should arrive tomorrow and normal service can be resumed. Meanwhile I think I should retreat to my studio and play a little.

HOPE & PRAYER

I began today’s project by cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Basic White Card. Then for the background I turned to the Sun Prints 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There’s a sheet which is has a simple blue washed effect which I thought was perfect to represent the sky. So I cut a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece and fixed it to the back of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).

With that done I chose the “Under His wings you will find refuge” sentiment from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set. Using VersaMark ink I stamped this towards the bottom of the DSP strip. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with white powder from the Basics Stampin’ Emboss Powders pack. After tapping off the excess powder I removed a few stray specks, before melting the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).

Finally from the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set I chose the small dove image. Using Smoky Slate ink I stamped this onto a scrap of Basic White Card. However I decided that the bird was a little too white. So using a Blending Brush I added a very light layer of Smoky Slate ink over the top. With that done I carefully cut out the image using Paper Snips and a lot of patience. Then I used liquid glue to attach the bird to the bookmark.

To finish I used the Very Best Trio Punch to add a ribbon slot to the top of the assembled strip. Then I threaded 8″ of White Glittered Organdy Ribbon through the slot and tied it in a simple knot. And just like that my project was complete. If only fixing my internet was as quick….

For another project using the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set see my earlier blog post Hope in all things.

PRODUCT LIST

BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Very Best Trio Punch in a bundle with the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set (not used today). Using the single ‘bundle’ item number to order meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two products separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore this option.
