So yesterday’s storm wasn’t quite as bad as we’d expected. Rain, then freezing rain, followed by tiny ice pellets and finally some snow. Today the forecast is for sun, but the temperature will remain below freezing. In my mind that means Mother Nature wants me to stay indoors, so I’ve decided to spend the day crafting. I have a number of Kits Collection kits I want to explore more, like Timeless Greetings. While I could create projects following the included instructions, it’s fun to experiment and create something completely different..

TIMELESS START
I began with only a vague idea of doing something with pieces from the Timeless Greetings Kit. So I started by pulling out the stamp set included in the kit. I wanted to play off the idea of time and using Soft Suede ink I stamped the clock face onto the white dial piece. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue I fixed the dial into the silver foil die-cut watch.
Going back to the Timeless Greetings stamp set I found the “Time to celebrate” sentiment and stamped it onto a scrap of Basic White Card with Soft Suede ink. I actually only wanted the “Time to” section of the sentiment so I cut that part off using my Paper Snips. Then I went looking for the rest of my custom sentiment.
It didn’t take me long to find what I wanted, it was right there in the In The Moment Stamp Set. From the set I chose “Sometimes the most productive thing you can to is relax”. Using Soft Suede ink I stamped the bottom half of this sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White Card. Then using my Paper Snips I cut around the word “relax”.
Finally to complete the focal point for my bookmark I glued the two parts of my sentiment onto the assembled watch.
INDUSTRIAL LOOK
With that done it was time to create the base for the bookmark.
I began by cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Smoky Slate Card. Then I placed it inside the Metallic Plate 3D Embossing Folder and embossed it.

Next I used a Blending Brush to add Smoky Slate ink over the surface of the embossed card strip. This brought out the amazing textured design and really added to the industrial feel of the piece.
For the hole at the top I used the slot option on the Very Best Trio Punch. Then from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack I cut 6″ each of Basic Black and Gray Granite twine. After folding the twine in half I passed the loops through the punched slot before threading the cut ends through the loops.
Finally, using more liquid glue I attached the assembled watch and sentiments to the centre of the bookmark and my project was complete.
I love how this project turned out, especially the way the parts of the sentiment from two different stamp sets came together. Have you ever tried doing that to create your own custom message? Why not leave a comment below and tell me your favourites.
