Oh where did the weekend go? I always seem to run out of weekend before I run out of things I want to get done. Still, I did manage to find some time to craft and already have tomorrow’s final sneak peek project made. But before we get to that I have a birthday card project for you. It combines the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set (only available until the Stampin’ Up! 2023 Sale-A-Bration promotion ends tomorrow), with another of the Basic 3D Embossing Folders available to customers starting on Wednesday.

BEAUTIFULLY HAPPY
I began with the large outline floral image from the free Beautifully Happy Stamp Set and a Soft Succulent ink pad. After cutting a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Very Vanilla Card I stamped the image diagonally across the piece. Then I chose “for a very happy birthday” and stamped that in the top right corner.
Going back to the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set I found the four-leaf and multi-bud solid images. Although these stamps are designed to create areas of light and shade I wanted the colour to be light. So after tapping each solid image onto the Soft Succulent ink pad I ‘stamped-off’ onto scrap paper. This removed a little of the ink before I looked through the photopolymer stamp and lined it up with the cooresponding part of the outline image.
With the leaves and buds done I then found the four-flower solid image. Switching to the Polished Pink ink pad I once again inked up the stamp surface and stamped-off, before adding the colour to the main image.
Finally I stamped the small centre on the open flower using the tiny circle stamp from the set and Pale Papaya ink. Unlike the petals and leaves I wanted the flower centre to be really bright so I reinked the stamp and stamped the flower centre a second time.
Now I was ready to add some texture to the completed layer.
BASICS 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER
For today’s sneak peek I wanted to use another of the designs in the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack. This time I reached for the open weave pattern (crosshatch) which I thought might give my layer a subtle textile effect. After placing the stamped layer inside the embossing folder I ran it through my Cut & Emboss Machine. Then I used a Blending Brush to add some Soft Succulent ink around the edges of the embossed card.
Oh my goodness, I think I’m in love! The texture was everything I’d hoped for and more. So right then and there I decided it had to become my coordinating feature.
I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card and slid the long edge 3/4″ into the embossing folder and embossed that strip. Then I embossed the flap on a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Finally I used the Blending Brush to cover these new embossed areas with a light layer of Soft Succulent ink.
All I had to do now was bring everything together, so I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Soft Succulent Card. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the Very Vanilla layer with the embossed strip on the inside.

For the card front I cut a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Evening Evergreen Card and glued my stamped layer on top. Then I wrapped three pieces of Crumb Cake twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack around the bottom of the assembled layers and secured them on the back with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Finally I mounted the assembled layers onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and with that my penultimate sneak peek project was complete.
Yes it’s official I can’t do without the new Basics 3D Embossing Folders and you haven’t even seen the third one in the set. You won’t have to wait long though as that features prominently in my final sneak peek project tomorrow. I hope you’ll come back to see it.
