Beautifully Simple

January 31, 2023 Leave a Comment

Can you believe that it’s the last day of January already! That also means we’re halfway through this year’s Sale-A-Bration promotion. I’ve been having lots of fun with the free items I earned with my orders. However, in a change from previous years this will be the only Sale-A-Bration promotion in 2023. So I’m determined to make the most of it while I still can. One item available for free with a $120 order is the 17-piece Beautifully Happy Stamp Set. This is one that’s also beautifully simple to use.

Create this bookmark "for a feeling better kind of day" using the free Beautifully Happy Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! #papercraftwithme

BEAUTIFULLY QUICK

I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Using the slot option on the Label Me Fancy Punch I first added a wide ribbon slot at the top.

Next, from the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set I chose the “for a feeling better kind of day” and stamped it at the bottom of the strip with Evening Evergreen ink. In the space that remained I used Evening Evergreen ink to stamp the large hollyhocks outline image from the set.

To colour in the image I only needed some of the solid stamps. First I inked up the multi-flower image with Crushed Curry ink and ‘stamped off’ onto some scrap paper. Then I looked through the stamp to line it up with the outline image before stamping what was left of the ink into place. Next I inked up the multi-leaf image with Evening Evergreen ink and ‘stamped off’ as before. Once again I looked through the stamp to line it up with the coordinating part of the outline image. The buds at the top of the image were coloured in using the same stamping off technique and Evening Evergreen ink. Finally I found the tiny roundish stamp and used that to add full-strength Crushed Curry ink to the centre of the open flower.

From there I cut 6″ of 7/8″ Natural Finish Ribbon and threaded through the slot at the top of the bookmark. To hold the ribbon in place I used a little Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back and front in the area above the slot. And just like that my project was complete.

If you’d prefer a card project using this stamp set, see my earlier blog post Beautifully happy hollyhocks.
