A couple of days ago I showed you a project using the new Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set. Today my sneak peek focuses on the coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies.
I began with this lovely sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set. I used the new Delicata Celestial Copper ink to stamp it onto Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I used the die from the Beautiful Boughs Dies to cut it out.
Believe it or not I found the wood plank plaque in my local Dollarama. It’s 5-1/2″ x 5-3/4″, made from MDF with a rope style hanger at the top and needs no preparation. I simply used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the sentiment towards the bottom right corner.
With the sentiment in place I then stamped three of the small pine cones onto Thick Very Vanilla Card using Soft Suede ink. I love the detail on these as well as that I could cut them out using another die from the set.
Of course as the name suggests the Beautiful Boughs Dies has boughs too. In fact it has three different sized pine boughs which I absolutely love.
For my project today I cut one large and one small bough from Garden Green Card. Then with a piece of Stampin’ Sponge I tapped some Garden Green ink onto the cut pieces. This simple process really adds dimension to the branches.
With that done I used liquid glue to fix the large branch to the top left corner of the plaque. Then I added the three small pines cones, making sure that they hung down to look more natural. Finally I added the small branch overlapping the stem in the corner.
Now while I loved my plaque I did feel the sentiment needed a little finishing touch. On my desk I had a pack of the new Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements which are thinner than foil sheet and much shinier. So using the edge of the die from the sentiment I cut out four teeny tiny squares from some of the scrap. Once I’d inlaid these into the sentiment piece my project was complete.
Here’s a photo of the Beautiful Boughs Dies. You’ll find the coordinating stamp set in my blog post Peaceful Boughs Sneak Peek. Like all the products from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue, these will be available to customers on September 4th.
I purchased the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set and coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies using the single bundle item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the same items separately. You’ll see I’ve included both options below.
