Since the Envelope Punch Board retired I’ve been looking at alternate ways to dress up a gift card. I’ve created a little pocket style giftcard holder but wanted something a bit larger as well. So for today’s Simple Sunday project I have a combined card and giftcard holder option for you.

GIFTCARD HOLDER BASE
For today’s giftcard holder base I began with a card from the Magnolia Lane Cards & More Pack. This pack contains ten Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4-1/4: cards with envelopes, plus ten printed 3″ x 4″ card layers.
I placed the card base onto my Paper Trimmer with the long side at the top and using the scoring blade scored it at 5-3/4″. Then I folded the 3/4″ strip inside the front of the card, folded the card along the centre pre-scored line too and sharpened both creases with a Bone Folder.
LET IT SNOW!
Next I cut a 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of the mini snowman design from the Let It Snow 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached the DSP to the front of the card base up against the centre crease.
More of the mini snowman design DSP was fixed to the flap of the envelope using liquid glue. Then I cut the DSP to shape with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.

Next, to add a little shine I wrapped a length of Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the front of the card and secured it on the back using Tear & Tape Adhesive. I placed the ribbon carefully so that when I folded back the 3/4″ section of card and secured that with Tear & Tape Adhesive at the top and bottom edge it also hid the ends of the ribbon.
One last piece of DSP was needed and I selected the design with larger snowmen and cut one of them out with Paper Snips. Then with Stampin’ Dimensionals I attached the snowman to the front of the card.
Finally I used Shaded Spruce ink to to stamp the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Snowman Season Stamp Set up the inside back edge of the card base and my alternate giftcard holder design was complete.
All I have to do now is tuck the giftcard inside the little section on the inside of the card and write my message. So what do you think?
You can see examples of my other style of giftcard holders in these earlier blog posts.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Snowman Season Stamp Set with the coordinating Snowman Builder Punch using the ‘bundle’ item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I didn’t use the punch on today’s project but I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore this option.
Well, that worked out VERY successfully, I would say! Glad I have the materials for working with! You are my GO TO source for the best ideas for such things, and again, Thank You for a great inspiration!
Thank you Geraldine
