Sometimes I spend a lot of time on my projects and there may be fancy techniques or special tools needed. Sometimes though I just need to make a card as quickly as possible. Despite a whole slew of elves bringing in the presents, this simple Sunday project was really fast to make.
BRING ON THE ELVES
I began by cutting and scoring a piece of Poppy Parade Card using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base.
Next I cut the a piece from the Santa’s Workshop 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). This particular pattern was perfectly designed with 4 lines of elves fitting perfectly on my card front. I attached the DSP to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
I cut another line of the elves pattern and used more liquid glue to attach it along the bottom edge of a layer of Whisper White Card. This layer was then fixed to the inside of the card base with liquid glue.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
I found the perfect ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment in an older, but still available stamp set, Star of Light. So I inked it up with Poppy Parade ink and stamped it onto a strip of Whisper White Card.
Looking through the Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP I found this pretty polka dot design. In fact it’s the reverse of the parade of elves pattern. I cut one line of elves, then flipped it over and attached the sentiment to the dotted side with liquid glue. Finally I added the sentiment to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
All that was left was the Whisper White Medium Envelope and I had a simple idea for that too. I needed the ‘Official Seal of the North Pole’ image from the Signs of Santa Stamp Set.
I closed the envelope and used Poppy Parade ink to stamp the ‘seal’ in the centre of the back of the envelope. In no time at all my project was complete.
SANTA’S WORKSHOP SUITE
I love the Santa’s Workshop suite of products from the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue. As well as the Designer Series Paper and the Signs of Santa Stamp Set, there’s dies, embellishments, and other accessories. It’s a one-stop shop for fun Christmas images.
BUNDLE BONUS – The Santa’s Signpost Framelits Dies that coordinate with the Signs of Santa Stamp Set used today can be purchased separately, or as part of a bundle. If you want the stamps and dies, using the bundle item number when you place your order will save you 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. Although I didn’t use the dies on today’s project, I’ve included a link to the bundle at the end of the product list just in case you want to look at this option.
Here’s some of my previous blog posts using elements from the Santa’s Workshop suite:
Official Seal of the North Pole
Super cute! And you’re right, the sentiment suits this perfectly! Definitely one of the cutest DSPs going right now, and love the seal on the envelope!
Thank you Geraldine. Sometimes when I’m designing a project the size and shape of the sentiment is just as important as the words.
Dear Tracy, this is an absolutely beautiful card! I fell in love with the DSP Santas Workshop immidiately when I saw it and I love the cards you create from it. TFS Susanne
Thank you Susanne, this paper is so much fun and I have a few more projects already lined up to show you.
