Apart from blue and white, one of my other favourite colour combinations is blue and yellow. That’s why I was immediately drawn to this pattern in the Hues of Happiness 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). There’s something really cheerful about this design, and I love the contrast between the bright flowers and the navy background. Just a simple panel of these flowers with a touch of gold ribbon and a few shiny embellishments was all I needed. Add in a simple punched sentiment and my planning was complete.

HUES OF HAPPINESS
As my card was designed around the Hues of Happiness paper that’s where I began. First I cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece, and using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I attached it to the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I trimmed off the excess DSP with Paper Snips using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of DSP and glued that down the right-hand edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. This would be used to line the card base, but for now I just set it aside.
Finally I cut the DSP panel for the front of the card at 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
By now I’d decided to use Night Of Navy Card for the card base and layers. So I started by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece. After folding along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create my card base.
Next I cut a 1/8″ x 5-1/4″ strip of Night of Navy Card and glued that to the Basic White layer up against the left edge of the DSP strip. With that done I glued the completed layer inside the card base.
That just left the mat for the DSP panel to do, so I cut a 2-5/8″ x 4-3/8″ piece of Night Of Navy Card and mounted the DSP onto it with liquid glue.
SHIMMER AND SHINE
Before adding the assembled panel to the card I needed to add my ribbon. I cut a 4″ piece of gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon and wrapped it around the panel 1-1/4″ from the top. Then I wrapped the cut ends around the back and secured them in place using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

For my sentiment I reached for the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set. There are lots of lovely sentiments but I chose “You are wonderful in every way”. Using Night of Navy ink I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Basic White Card. Then I punched it out using the Label Me Fancy Punch and fixed it over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Before adding the panel to the card front I wanted to add one extra detail. Well three really. I chose one of each of the three sizes of Pool Party embellishments from the new Glossy Dots Assortment pack. These are self-adhesive domed accents and I simply placed them above and below the sentiment.
Once I’d pressed the Glossy Dots firmly into place I flipped the whole panel over so I could attach Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back. Then I mounted the panel onto the card front and my pretty project was complete.
I love how this card turned out, especially how the gold ribbon picks out the colour in the centre of the flowers, and the Glossy Dots reflect the light. You will definitely be seeing more of both these products on future projects.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set in a bundle with the coordinating Blossoming Happiness Dies (not used today). Buying the two items using the single ‘bundle’ item number meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. For this reason I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore that option. I should also point out that some of those dies directly coordinate with images on some of the Hues of Happiness DSP too.
