OMG the weather over on the east coast has been brutal. Let’s hope these storms aren’t a foretaste of the rest of autumn and winter! I can do without the wind, but to be honest I don’t mind snow, especially when it’s a happy snowman like this one from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set.
THE SNOWSTORM
I began with a piece of Thick Whisper White Card that I cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach a piece of the Blueberry Bushel small dotted pattern from the 2018/2020 InColor Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack. Next I turned over one of the scrap strips of DSP and fixed that across the dotted background.
I attached another of the scrap pieces, dotted side up, across the top of a layer of Whisper White Card. Then I fixed that inside the card base.
Finally I attached a piece of the dotted DSP to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Then I cut the DSP to shape using Paper Snips.
THE HAPPY SNOWMAN
All that was left was the happy snowman and sentiment from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set. I stamped him onto Whisper White Card using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured the image with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I used light and dark Night of Navy and Pool Party, dark Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie, and finally light Mint Macaron.
Below the snowman I stamped the ‘your friendship warms my heart’ sentiment using Blueberry Bushel ink.
Finally I mounted the completed focal panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and I was done.
I never thought of the dotted pattern on this DSP as snow, but now that’s all I see. It works really well with the snowman, don’t you think?
