After yesterday’s slip up showing you a project using something that’s no longer available, I think it’s time to move on to some proper sneak peeks. Today would have been our late son’s 33rd birthday, and one of the last times he visited us he spent a day down at Peggy’s Cove. So this lighthouse gift tag seemed the perfect project to show you today.
I designed this masculine gift tag for a recent preview event I held for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. The project mainly uses products from the Come Sail Away Suite.
The lighthouse image comes from the new Sailing Home Stamp Set. I stamped it onto the new Seaside Spray Card using Night of Navy ink. Then it was cut out with a coordinating die from the new Smooth Sailing Dies.
The ‘It’s your day’ sentiment comes from the new A Good Man Stamp Set. This was stamped onto Whisper White Card using Seaside Spray ink. Then another die from Smooth Sailing was used to cut that out.
For the hexagonal tag I used the #6 die (counting from the smallest up) from the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies (there’s 8 in the set). The front of the tag uses paper from the new Come Sail Away 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Then I used the same hexagonal die to cut a piece of Whisper White Card.
After gluing the DSP and card back-to-back I punched a hole at the top using the Detailed Trio Punch. Then I threaded some of the new Sahara Sand / Night of Navy Baker’s Twine through the hole.
To finish I added the sentiment to the tag with liquid glue, followed by the lighthouse popped-up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally a ship’s wheel from the new Sail Away Trinkets was tucked in behind on a Mini Glue Dot.
Oh my goodness, I may have gone slightly ‘overboard’ with the sneak peeks, but it’s hard not to be excited about all the new stuff that’s coming in just 3 weeks! I promise to give you lots more information about all these new products and more in future blog posts. I hope you’ll join me again tomorrow for something a little more feminine.
For now though, I’ll leave you with a few more sneak peaks and the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue cover.
