Despite my best intentions, after three surgeries it’s been much harder to get back into papercrafting than I’d imagined. But today I couldn’t resist designing a project for the Make It Masculine Blog Hop. After reaching for the Trucking Along Stamp Set and coordinating Punch I decided to pair it with some of the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper (DSP). This decorated Post-It Notes pad would make a great gift and was so easy to put together. I’m really delighted with how it turned out and hope you are too.

TRUCKING SIMPLE
I began by choosing one of the more scenic designs from the Meandering Meadows 6″ x 6″ DSP pack that was the right scale for the truck. I cut the DSP to 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″, along with a 3″ x 3″ piece of Pecan Pie Card. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the DSP onto the card and set it aside.
Next, in the DSP pack I found another sheet that was a plain brown (Pecan Pie) colour on the back. So using Early Espresso ink I stamped the truck from the Trucking Along Stamp Set onto the DSP. Then I added the “Farm Fresh” sentiment to the door of the truck. With that done I lined up the image in the Trucking Along Punch and punched out the truck along with one of the wheel arch shapes. I punched a second wheel arch and added that to my pile of pieces.
While I liked how the punched truck looked I wasn’t keen on the brown window. So I found a scrap of “sky” from the Meandering Meadows DSP and stamped the cab of the truck onto that. Then all I had to do was fussy cut the ‘window’.
That just left the wheels to do and I stamped them onto Basic Gray Card using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I punched them out separately using the Trucking Along Punch once again. Finally I used a Sponge Dauber to add a little Early Espresso ink around the various punched pieces apart from the ‘window’.

To assemble the truck I used liquid glue to attach the wheels and window onto the truck image, before adding the wheel arches over the top. Then with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back I fixed the truck onto the layered scene.

THAT’S A WRAP
Now that the most complicated part was complete I was ready for the rest of the project.
To cover my lime green 3″ x 3″ Post-It® Notes pad I chose Granny Apple Green Card. I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut the card at 6-3/4″ x 3-1/8″. Then with the long side at the top I scored it at 3-1/8″ and 3-5/8″. After folding the card along the scored lines I sharpened the creases really well with a Bone Folder. To complete this part of the project I put liquid glue on the back of the Post-It Notes pad and attached it to the right-hand end of the card.

Finally I closed the card around the pad and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount the assembled truck scene to the top. With that my project was done.
I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last blog post, but hopefully you’ll think the wait was worth it. My order from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue arrives tomorrow and I plan to have a new card project for you on Sunday.
