The lurgy that’s going around has finally got me and I’m currently dosed up with medication. So for today’s project I needed to find something that I could put together really quickly. If you’re a regular follower of my blog you’ll remember a box decorated using the new Petal Park Stamp Set and coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch. After finishing that project I had a few pieces left over. Today I decided that with a pretty box to gift, I could use those pieces to create a birthday gift tag.

GIFT TAG BASE
I began this project by creating the gift tag base using the largest fancy topped die from the Tailor Made Tags Dies. For the front I chose a striped Smoky Slate pattern from the Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Then using the die I cut the DSP and also some Shimmery White Card. Finally using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I glued the two pieces together.
Next I cut some Basic Black twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. After threading it through the hole I tied it in a simple knot.
For my “Happy birthday” sentiment I turned to the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it onto a scrap of Shimmery White Card. Then I found the perfect oval die in the All That Dies set. After die-cutting the sentiment I glued it onto the prepared tag base.
PRETTY PETAL PARK

Now I simply had to add my flowers and leaves. These were created at the beginning of the month using Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the outline images from the Petal Park Stamp Set onto Shimmery White Card. For the flowers I used Petal Pink ink, while the leaves were stamped in Mint Macaron. Then using the coordinating Petal Park Builder Punch I simply punched out the stamped images.
To assemble the pieces I glued one leaf to the back of the larger flower and set it aside. Then I glued the smaller flower and two leaves onto the tag base. Finally I added the assembled flower and leaf on top with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. And just like that my tag was complete.
I have to say that a simple flower stamp set with a coordinating punch is always a valuable addition to my craft stash. These two products provide so many possibilities especially if you need to create a project in a hurry. What do you think?
