One of my aims for 2025 was to put more effort into my memory keeping. It’s not been easy but this is the third month in a row that I’ve actually completed a scrapbook page. I do have to thank my daughter who’s been sending me lovely photos of the family. As soon as I saw these images of my twin granddaughters splashing in puddles an idea popped into my head. The Playing In The Rain Stamp Set and coordinating dies immediately came to mind and I love the result.

For the background I found a lovely moody grey pattern in the Winter Meadow 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Unfortunately I only had a 10″ x 12″ piece left but I knew I could make it work. So I simply glued it across the middle of a 12″ x 12″ piece of Smoky Slate Card.

Looking at the photos I decided to create coordinating mat layers. So I cut two Night of Navy Card layers 1/8″ wider and taller than the photos. Then I cut two Bubble Bath Card pieces 1/4″ wider and taller than the photos. Finally I layered the pieces together with liquid glue before overlapping the two photos.

PLAYING IN THE RAIN

Now I was ready to get stamping. First I stamped “Rainy days are better with you” onto 7/8″ x 2-5/8″ strip of Basic White Card with Basic Gray ink. Then I cut a 1″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Bubble Bath Card and glued the sentiment on top.

Next, I stamped the rabbit and umbrella onto some Basic White Card. I also stamped the image of three clouds twice, but only after I’d stamped off some of the ink onto scrap paper.

To colour the images I chose Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I started with light and dark Night of Navy for the rabbit’s coat. Then switched to light and dark Bubble Bath for his hands, nose and inside his ears. Finally I added a little light Pool Party around the edges of his fur. On the umbrella I used light and dark Pool Party, before adding more light Pool Party to the edges of the clouds. Then I cut out all the images using the coordinating dies from the retiring Playing in the Rain dies.

At this point I realised that the die cut out the rabbit but not the puddle he was splashing in. So before assembling the page I stamped the rabbit image directly onto the grey DSP layer towards the bottom. Then added some colour with the light and dark Pool Party Stampin’ Blends markers. Next I used liquid glue to add the photos, followed by the rabbit on top of the additional stamping. After tucking the sentiment under the edge of the rabbit I added the umbrella at the other end.

Finally I glued the clouds into place (it was a great way to hide Daddy’s feet in one of the photos!). With that my scrapbook page was complete and a fun day in the rain was ready to join the others in my album.
