When I get a new Stampin’ Up! catalogue I always go through it several times, even before placing my first order. Over the years I’ve discovered that there are products I’m immediately drawn to. Then there’s others that creep up on me. There are even some that I overlook numerous times until it’s pointed out by someone else. The Stepping Stones Stamp set was one that had to grow on me, but I’m so glad I’ve got it now. Eventually I’ll even use it on some scrapbook pages I’ve planned.

BIG STEPPING STONES
One of the things I love about the sentiments in the Stepping Stones Stamp Set is their size. However the wide, narrow shapes also lend themselves to bookmarks. These are great for tucking inside cards and don’t add much (if anything) to the mailing cost.
So I today I began with the quote by J.W. Goethe “Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.” Using Starry Sky ink I stamped this in the centre of the bottom half of a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Basic White Card.
Next from the Sun Prints 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) Pack I cut a 1″ x 5-1/2″ strip of a subtle blue pattern. For interest I then added a scalloped and faux stitched detail along one long edge using the border die from the Penned Flowers Dies. With that done I used a Blending Brush to add a layer of Starry Sky ink over the surface of the paper. Then I brushed Night of Navy ink around the edges.
I wanted the paper to look like a night sky and I needed to add a few stars. So to do this I picked up a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush and tapped the barrel firmly against the handle of the Blending Brush. This made fine drops of the glitter solution splatter onto the inked DSP. Once the solution had dried I glued the paper onto the card strip using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
To finish I punched a hole at one end using the Label Me Fancy Punch. Then I cut two 6″ pieces of silver cord from the Simply Elegant Trim pack and threaded it through the hole. After tying the cord in a simple knot close to the card my latest project was complete.
PRODUCT LIST
LAST CHANCE LIST – Starting on December 1st a large proportion of the July to December Mini Catalogue will appear on the Last Chance List. From then, some (but not all) products will be available at up to 60% off. The downside is that these retiring products are only available while stocks last, so if you want them you’ll need to act quickly. To help you plan I’ve included a link to the Last Chance List in the column on the right. You’ll notice that a few things have been crossed through and that’s because they are already sold out. I’ll leave the PDF link there until Thursday when I’ll change the link to take you right into the Last Chance Section of my online store. Just remember that the prices shown on my list are in CAD$ and only apply to customers in Canada.
